Phillip Simmerer was one of the founding partners in the Peltz and Simmerer Store. This hardware store remained in business for 78 years. The Simmerer home was erected in 1897 next to the Peltz home, where it stands today. The Simmerer family is cinsidered to be one of the great influential forces in the development of Olmsted Falls and the surrounding area.
